The inaugural Indigenous Business Forum (IBF) represents a significant commitment by the Broome Chamber of Commerce & Industry to advancing Indigenous participation and economic inclusion across the Kimberley. Aligned with BCCI’s strategic pillars, the forum will play a critical role in strengthening Aboriginal entrepreneurship, promoting informed business development, and addressing the structural and market challenges faced in regional and remote contexts.
 

Guided by the planning committee, the Forum is designed to provide a clear, practical overview of the key drivers, constraints and emerging opportunities within the Kimberley economy. Through a series of panels, keynote insights and workshops, IBF will elevate local perspectives while encouraging informed dialogue between Aboriginal businesses, industry, investors and government. This approach supports BCCI’s advocacy role, while equipping participants with the knowledge and connections needed to identify gaps, create commercial opportunities and drive long‑term business growth.

 

Under the theme ‘Empowering Enterprise, Strengthening Partnerships’, the Forum emphasises the importance of collaboration, early engagement and leadership development as catalysts for enduring economic participation. 

 

The Broome Chamber of Commerce & Industry acknowledges and thanks Rio Tinto and the Winu Project team for their seed funding and early investment into IBF. Their support has been instrumental in enabling the establishment of IBF as a catalyst that brings together industry, community and partners to support Indigenous enterprise, attract investment and build lasting regional capability.
