Broome’s Generators and Off-Grid Energy (GANDO) have commenced maintenance inspections of remote solar systems under the Outback Power program. Awarded the contract by Alice Springs based Ingkerreke (on behalf of the Federal Government), GANDO will make inspections for the next two financial years.  This will also involve performing any upgrades or maintenance work required for the systems. The contract award is a benefit for the Kimberley-region Communities and businesses as previously inter-state companies had performed some of this work. Five organisations in the Shire of Broome will share more than $150,000 from the Woodside COVID-19 Community Fund as part of the first round of grants announced today. The grants support initiatives helping the Kimberley community respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd (KAMS) is one of the first local organisations to receive funding from Woodside.
