Broome Trade Co

Built by Industry, for Industry
Over the past 12 months, BCCI has undertaken extensive engagement with local trade businesses to test and refine the Trade Co concept.
This engagement has shown strong support, with multiple businesses committed to the model and recognising the value of working together to access larger opportunities.
Trade Co is not a top-down initiative. Participation is driven by businesses that are ready to grow, collaborate, and be part of a more coordinated approach to delivering work in the region.
This ensures the model is grounded in real industry need not theory.
How Trade Co Works
Participating businesses will play a direct role in shaping how Trade Co operates through a co-design process facilitated by BCCI.
The inaugural Trade Co members will:
- Develop shared expectations and ways of working
- Align systems and standards over time
- Strengthen compliance and capability
- Actively engage in joint tendering opportunities
With BCCI coordinating and facilitating the process, businesses are supported to maintain independence while working collectively where it matters most.
Why It Matters
Trade Co creates a practical balance between independence and collaboration.
It builds:
- Stronger trust between local businesses
- More effective working relationships
- A capable and connected local trade network
Ultimately, Trade Co is about keeping more work local, ensuring that Kimberley businesses are not just participating in major projects, but leading them.
